Risk Tools
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode
Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard SecureCode protect the merchant by treating e-commerce transactions in the same fashion as a retail "card present" transactions. Under certain conditions(1), your risk of chargeback will be reduced when a customer states that their card was used without their permission.

The TD Bank and Online Mart have underwritten 100% of the cost of providing these services to you. For most merchants the process is seamless and you have nothing to do on your own system.

For more information on VbV, please visit http://www.visa.ca/verified/.

Card Verification Value

Most credit cards now include a 3 or 4 digit verification number, which is not part of the regular credit card number. CVV seeks to ensure that the purchaser has the physical card in hand when placing a phone, mail, or Internet order, and to verify that the card account is legitimate. The number is not contained in the magnetic strip information nor does it appear on sales receipt.

Address Verification Service (AVS)

AVS is a free tool that Online Mart offers to all merchants. No activation or configuration is required. When a transaction is submitted to the gateway, address and card details are automatically sent to the Issuer to be compared with the card the Issuer has on file. AVS approvals and warning messages are returned at the end of the transaction process and logged in easy-to-read transaction reports to help merchants identify and manage higher risk transactions

Secure Payment Profiles

Secure Payment Profiles is designed to help reduce the scope and cost of PCI Compliance. This tool uses a process called "tokenization" to create customer data files or "profiles." All confidential customer contact information and credit card details are collected and stored on our PCI certified servers. When it comes time to make a paymenbt, the merchant passes a unique customer code or "token" to the gateway in place of billing details - eliminating the need for merchants to collect and store confidential card information on their own systems. Additional Options

The Online Mart system offers numerous additional tools to help secure the transaction process and manage online risks. Hash validation, user validation, card and IP filters, and advanced risk scoring are just a few of the options available to merchants.
