Risk Tools
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode
Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard SecureCode protect the merchant by treating e-commerce transactions in the same fashion as a retail "card present" transactions. Under certain conditions(1), your risk of chargeback will be reduced when a customer states that their card was used without their permission.

The TD Bank and Online Mart have underwritten 100% of the cost of providing these services to you. For most merchants the process is seamless and you have nothing to do on your own system.

For more information on VbV, please visit http://www.visa.ca/verified/.

Card Verification Value

Most credit cards now include a 3 or 4 digit verification number, which is not part of the regular credit card number. CVV seeks to ensure that the purchaser has the physical card in hand when placing a phone, mail, or Internet order, and to verify that the card account is legitimate. The number is not contained in the magnetic strip information nor does it appear on sales receipt.

QuickMatch

Quickmatch is a validation tool to verify the name and address of Canadian credit card holders by matching the information provided against the owners credit file. The entire validation process takes between 5-10 seconds and provides a high level confidence in accepting card not present credit card orders. QuickMatch information can be used to validate a shipping address, confirm that you are dealing with the authorized owner of a credit card, and verify the data on your consumer applications to ensure the correct information is entered. SafeScan

Safescan is a warning system that detects potential fraud by spotting irregularities associated with Canadian names, addresses, social insurance numbers, and telephone numbers. SafeScan can identify telephone numbers that have been reported misused, or that belong to cellular or public pay phones. Social insurance numbers that have been reported retired or misused and addresses that belong to mail drops, post offices, prison addresses and high risk postal codes will also be identified. If you are interested in this product contact us directly at sales@onlinemart.ca.

SafeScan ID

Safescan ID combines the features of QuickMatch and Safescan with Infodirect's comprehensive residential and business telephone directory. SafeScan ID checks the Canadian cardholder's name, address and telephone number against the listed telephone number. If this information does not match, a warning will be issued. If you are interested in this product contact us directly at sales@onlinemart.ca.

eIDCompare

eIDCompare combines the features of QuickMatch and Safescan ID with credit scoring features. eIDCompare provides an overall score based on the accuracy of the information provided by the consumer and the risk tolerances that Online Mart has developed with the merchant. eIDCompare is available to merchants wishing to authenticate both Canadian and U.K. consumers. If you are interested in this product contact us directly at sales@onlinemart.ca.

eIDVerify

eIDVerify is currently our highest level of identity authentication offered and combines the features of QuickMatch and Safescan ID with an interactive questionnaire based on information that would normally be contained "out of wallet". The purpose of an "out of wallet" question is to prevent an individual who may have stolen a wallet or obtained information from a compromised database from accurately responding to an authentication check. The assumption is that questions about student loans, car loans, and/or mortgages could only be answered by the person who actually possessed that knowledge and not a thief. eIDVerify is available to merchants wishing to authenticate both Canadian and U.K. consumers. If you are interested in this product contact us directly at sales@onlinemart.ca.
